NY FarmNet and Cornell Cooperative Extension’s South Central NY Dairy & Field Crops Team have partnered to bring local farmers and farm families together this August at a Summer Social. The event is free and family-friendly, and provides an opportunity for local farmers to socialize as well as get updates from Cornell University Dairy Professors and the SCNY Dairy Team, and learn more about how NY FarmNet provides assistance to farmers.
Thursday, August 2 from 1-4:30 pm
Cornell University Vet School Teaching Dairy
225 Tulip Tree Drive, Ithaca, NY
(across from the Vet School on campus, NOT in Harford!)
Farmers and farm families can:
- Tour the Cornell Vet School Teaching Dairy
- Learn about resources available to them
- Enjoy Cornell Dairy Ice Cream
- Learn about the Team and Campus Research Updates at the Dairy Breakout
- Hear from NY FarmNet’s farmer panel
- Tour Stocking Hall, where Cornell Ice Cream is made fro m the Teaching Dairy’s milk
Throughout the afternoon, kid’s activities and a resource fair of agri-service organizations will be available. Parking at the Teaching Barn is free; parking passes/carpooling from the Teaching Dairy to Stocking Hall will be provided.
